Description
Contested Space is a co-op roguelike deckbuilder where you build your deck mid-fight from a personal market shaped across the run.
Most deckbuilders give you a deck and let you tweak it between battles. Contested Space inverts that. The thing you're growing across a run is your market, not your deck. The deck is what you assemble out of the market, combat by combat, decision by decision.
The game is designed solo first. Online co-op (2-4 players) builds on that foundation -- each player runs their own market, drafts their own cards mid-fight, and deploys their own stations. Nothing is shared at the shop level, so no one is starved out of the build they want.
Six playable factions across two alliances (the human-led Terran Compact and the insectoid Chitin Sovereignty), plus a Neutral pool. Twenty Incursion levels of difficulty. Branching star maps with handcrafted and procedural paths. Seeded runs for sharing challenges. Handcrafted pixel art at 640x360 with full Steam Deck support.
